My First Culture Crawl
Thanks to everyone who came out to say hi and visit the studio at this year's Eastside Culture Crawl! This is easily one of my favourite events in Vancouver, but it's the first time I've ever participated as an artist.This is the 3rd time I've shown my work in the flesh and the experience was tremendously gratifying.
After watching the expressions on people faces while they viewd my work I would ask them if they had seen encaustic art before 99% replied "No" & were amazed when I explained what is was. I met some really interesting people and had some great conversations.
I strongly encourage anyone working creatively within the arts to consider exhibiting their work next year -- it's a huge amount of exposure (I'd estimate 1000 people strolled through for a look), not to mention a firm kick in the butt for anyone who needs an extra push to get motivated.
I came away with a new sense of satisfaction and confidence that I can do this ! So onward and upward from here I feel like 2018 will be a magical year for my art career and our studio collective at #580 Clark drive . See you at next years Eastside Culture Crawl !
